Daisy's growing like a weed.

Can you believe this wee piece of pudding is 6 months already? i sure can't. kinda having a hard time with the thought of it actually. although i won't miss all these sleepless nights we are having still...i have loved having a baby in the house again. and the smell of baby. and baby laughs. and baby everything.

this weekend we made a conscious effort to stay close to home...we haven't for so long...we needed it.
and although yesterday was filled with visitors and the two big girls went for an afternoon gardening at mama and papa's house...it has been nice to be home and not have anywhere to be.

this wee sprocket had an impromptu photo shoot yesterday arvo. the many faces of Daisy Willip (that's Honor's name for her...also there has been Daisy Willy and Daisy Willis.)

my goodness i love those chins.

Wednesday, April 11

when life is nuts...you feel a bit nuts...eat some nuts.

still trying to find our groove over here with three little peeps. i have given myself permission to take my time on that front. there are days when i feel super hero...and days when i wonder how other people are doing it...then i remind myself that they are feeling the same way (...right!?? )

little Moo is now happy to sit with the fam-dam while we have breakfast. those big sisters of hers are an amazing source of entertainment for this lass...and for me too.

now for something almost as delicious...

spiced walnuts with garam masala.

love.
the soon-to-be brother in law brought a bag of walnuts over in the weekend.
he's a keeper!

i made these today.

and here is the recipe.

3 cups of nuts. i had walnuts you can use any nuts or seeds you wish.
pop these puppies in a bowl.

then add...

1 tsp sugar....but you could proberbly get away without this if you wanted.
2 tsp garam masala
2 TBSP honey
2 tsp olive oil
scatter one layer on baking paper lined tray. i do these in two batches.
roast at 150 C (bake....not fanny bake) for 30 minutes

give them a shake half way through.

as soon as you get them out scatter with sea salt.

your house will smell amazing. at least i thought so. Indie sat outside holding her nose yelling that it stinks.
each to their own.

the year of calm...

hey peeps. we are back! with the addition of a wee tot that goes by the name Daisy. another mini Larsen.

ready for a new year? i sure am. goodbye 2011...the year of job changes and morning sickness
i wonder what 2012 will bring...i have a feeling some pretty nifty stuff if i have anything to do with it!

this little chickadee already has some spunk... and by spunk i mean opinions...and by opinions i mean...the opinion that sleeping is cheating.

in steps under-eye concealer for yours truly.

but these goober smiles make up for it all.

my little old brain is a bit fuzzy after today...Lars first day at new job...and my first whole day with the 3 kiddos. it was great but it's 5.30 and i'm looking for my bed already.

these wee beauts are Honor's hand-me-down dream. fairy ballet shoes that leave a trail of sequins where ever she goes. stay tuned for more tales of the grotty sparkly purple fairy shoes...

that's it for now... i'm back...and with a lot to share...once i have had a nap.

Saturday, September 17

the Haps at the Larsen house.

i know, i know...i said i would quit it with the kiddy posts....but they are just so darn awesome. so you'll just have to suck it up one more time ;)

what a week! this darn cold got hold of me good and proper...maaarp maarp maaaaarp. like i can whinge when EVERYbody has had it. but boo for me.

the girls have been hilarious. as usual. but also a wee bit naughty, destructive and clumsy (surely that traits not from me???) so they are both covered in bruises...it looks like i have had at them...i promise i haven't. (i may have wanted to sell them at one point this week though...)

anyway. this Saturday afternoon brought a bit of sun. which meant the people at the supermarket were a little bit nicer. (do you notice that too?) it also involved the girls pegging tea towels to themselves and spending most of the day being 'super girl' and 'super pony'. and also screaming DANGER DANGER at the top of their lungs. talk about crying Wolfe to the neighbours.

goodness i love my little retro Indie.
this is using the 'toy camera' setting on my camera. no editing here. i dig it.

you will also notice the lawnmower in the background. for those of you that know my fight with the swamp monster that is our backyard...this is a FANTASTIC sign!

"hey do a super cool pose Honny"....this is what you get.

Beiber fever is so last week....

excuse yet another post about the girlies...i promise i will mix it up again next week!

rugby fever baby! black out day at Montessori.

now, I'm not a rugby nut at all...but anything is made fun when you involve little people. (yes...both kinds...)

waaahaaaay!

Indie and her friend Alexander...she wasn't letting that flag go for nothing!

ahem...yes do you notice that green shirt in the background...he only gets away with it because of a cute accent.

Indie and her lucky stone...that she coloured rainbow and added her name. maybe she could hiff it at the opposition.

Honny already over the hype and wondering when morning tea time is...

Thursday, September 8

hello 90's? i believe i have your grunge childen.

these kiddos have the most outrageously awesome morning hair.

seriously...there was no extra 'joooshing' done to these beauties. it's all natural.

i went and saw my wonderful midwife today. this wee bubs has turned around (yay!) but...not all the way. it's lying on the diagonal. which is why my hip keeps giving me grief...there's a big (little) noggin smushing on it. apparently swimming and swiss ball lounging are where it's at to get this sucker right around. so i ventured and bought some preggo togs. hot. i'm just going to have to put on my "i don't care if you stare at my kardashian booty" face and head to the pool.

who knows i may come home with my own reality show.

Wednesday, September 7

fly little birdie...flap flap flap.

Indie is staying home with me today coughing like a chain smoking hag...and Honor is having her first day at Montessori without her big sis...

at first she wanted to stay home with Indie, but soon was convinced that if she went she would be a BIG girl. this was an unexpected tug on the old heart strings for me...possibly hormonal thanks to the wee tike in my belly?

dropping her off and her being so damn confident. love this girl. this girl that spent the first two years of her life attached to me and only me...
The head teacher told me she was just an absolute joy and such a bright positive light. (i take this as partially my compliment too...as her manager i need my 10% you know....)

she's not my little little one anymore. and somehow i only just realised this although I'm pretty sure it has been this way for a while.

I'm going to miss these chubbo little legs that have a constant tatty plaster hanging off the knee.

yep. my girls spend every other moment on that trampoline.

also, Indie told me this morning that "girls can dance with girls which means girls can marry girls." damn straight they can dollface.
